College Signing Day @ERHS is Friday April 29!

Pico Rivera El Rancho High School Seniors, their parents, and elected city officials are invited to attend a Reach Higher College Signing Day on April 29, 2016, hosted by El Rancho High School in partnership with Generation 1st Degree-Pico Rivera. The event will celebrate 2016 graduating students and their commitment to pursuing a higher education

Accepting First Lady, Michelle Obama’s challenge to host a Reach Higher College Signing Day, along with other schools and communities across the nation, the school will be hosting an assembly to honor the Class of 2016.

The White House Reach Higher campaign goal is to focus on exposing students to college and career opportunities, make financial aid and college affordability a reality, and to inspire and support academic planning, school counselors and other education mentors.

This event will bring together students, parents, teachers, school staff, and city officials, invited to proudly wear T-shirts from their college alma maters, or from a local college or university.

Proud El Rancho High School Alum, Robert Gomez, from the Office of Federal Student Aid, U.S. Department of Education, will be the Keynote Speaker.

With May 1st as the deadline for students across the country to send their college commitment to the college or university of choice, students at the assembly will give their verbal college pledge before the community, inspiring younger students on campus to follow in their footsteps on their journey to higher education.

G1DPR and El Rancho Unified School District have joined in a unique partnership to provide top-quality programs and opportunities that help students explore college access through several different forums.

The event will take place on Friday, April 29th, 2016 at El Rancho High School at the New Gym. Address: 6501 Passons Blvd., Pico Rivera

Time: 11:30am – 12:30pm

Students who submit their college acceptance letters to the ERHS College and Career Center will be entered into a raffle. Prizes to include gift cards, laptop, dorm room essentials and Dodgers Dugout Club tickets.
