Jacki and Gil’s Christmas Wish: Help Send 100 El Rancho Seniors to Be A Leader Bootcamp!

As many of you know, a few years ago, my husband Gilbert and I embarked on a journey to offer free college access programs to deserving students and to bring valuable collegiate information to families living in the community of Pico Rivera through our Generation 1st Degree – Pico Rivera program at El Rancho High School. Our goal has always been to encourage and support our students by preparing them for the rigors of higher education and by encouraging high-achieving students to attend prestigious universities across our nation.

We are thrilled to be introducing our first Fundraising Campaign in support of our college bound program, Be A Leader – Senior Boot Camp. Our goal is to raise $5,250.00, by the end of the year, in order to underwrite the cost of the program. In the spirit of the holidays, we encourage all community members, business owners and friends to contribute just $52.50 to cover the cost of one student’s participation. Or give whatever you can; every donation, large or small, counts. We are pledging to match every donation, dollar for dollar, so that twice as many students can participate in the program.

Generation 1st Degree-Pico Rivera has made a commitment to the Pico Rivera community in order to help give our children a competitive educational edge. In the coming year, our goal is to continue to expand these opportunities for more students, but it will take new and extended partnerships and donations in support of our nonprofit to do so. For the 500 students we serve through our college access programs every year, we thank you in advance for your generosity!

Happy Holidays from our Generation 1st Degree – Pico Rivera family to yours. Here’s to our students’ success in 2016!
